Utility Sector Contracts

We have recently secured a multi-million pound contract with ScottishPower as part of their DPCR5 asset replacement programme which runs between 2013 and 2015. As part of this contract we currently undertake the following work on behalf of the client:

  • 33kV Primary Substation Reinforcement
  • 33/11kV Transformer Replacement
  • 11kV Switchboard Replacement
  • Protection Alterations / Modifications
Our unique selling point is that our service delivery is completely in-house negating the requirement to subcontract services in with the exception of civil works. Moreover, the client has one point of contact throughout the project who not only project manages the contracts but who also commissions the systems ensuring a fully co-ordinated approach.

D & A Systems have recently secured a contract at one of Europe’s largest manufacturing complexes at Airbus UK in Broughton. The prestigious project worth circa £1.5million will commence in 2013 and involve upgrading the site electrical infrastructure from 11kV upto 33kV.

The twelve month contract will involve the construction of a new Substation building and adjoining bunded compound which will accommodate two 20/25MVA ONAN / ONAF 33/11kV Distribution transformers affording Duobias ‘M’ transformer differential protection. In addition there will be a new Switchroom to house a fourteen Panel 11kV ABB UniGear ZS1 Switchboard c/w Micom P121 protection relays and SCADA system.

Operating under a separate contract, D&A Systems were employed to undertake the 33kV contestable connection for the project by Matrix Networks Ltd. This involved equipping a 33kV Primary substation which would later be adopted by ScottishPower following handover.
